Anniversary Of The 19th Amendment

Statement

Maine's Second District Congressman, Bruce Poliquin, released the following statement in regards to the anniversary of the 19th Amendment:

"Today marks the ninety-fifth anniversary of the 19th Amendment.

"With the ratification of this important Amendment, our Nation took a critical step forward on the path to securing liberty and opportunity for all Americans. It's important to honor this occasion and to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our brave and powerful women in American history.

"I'm honored and humbled to serve in the same Second Congressional District seat as former Senators Margaret Chase Smith and Olympia Snowe both held when they were members of the House of Representatives.

"While there is much more work to be done, as Maine's Second District Congressman, I will continue to support bills, such as the Ruth Moore Act, that will help empower women in Maine and around the Country."
