Booker Requests Comprehensive OMB Review of Federal Policies in Wake of Obergefell Decision

In the wake of the Supreme Court's landmark decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which has established marriage equality in all 50 states, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) praised President Obama's leadership on LGBTQ rights and has requested that the federal Office of Management and Budget conduct a review of federal polices to ensure compliance with the decision.

"I therefore ask that the Office of Management and Budget conduct, within the next 60 days, a comprehensive review of all federal agencies' policies to ensure they are in compliance with the Supreme Court's landmark decision. Where federal rules are deficient, they should be updated immediately, whether it's Social Security payments, immigration policies, or any other federal program or policy affecting married couples," Sen. Booker wrote.
