Manchin Statement on Today's Opening of Permanent Health Clinic for Mercer County Veterans

U.S. Senator Joe Manchin released a statement on today's opening of Mercer County's permanent Princeton VA Clinic, which will provide greater access to primary care and telehealth services to the growing number of veterans in the area. The clinic has the capacity to serve a total of 1,200 eligible veterans.

"As the number of veterans continues to grow in southern West Virginia, it is wonderful that the Princeton VA Clinic is now open for business. It is long overdue, but our veterans residing in Mercer County and around the region finally have permanent access to the healthcare services they need. I'd also be remiss if I did not personally thank a very special veteran, Al Hancock, for tirelessly working toward this goal for nearly two decades. Al has spent his life serving our country: he's a retired Air Force veteran who served two tours to Vietnam, and he is also a retired schoolteacher. I applaud Al, the VA, and all those who have worked so hard to bring this much-needed medical access to the local community."
