Location: Fargo, ND

U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today announced more than $2.1 million in federal funding to support the Rural Assistance Center, an online portal that provides rural communities with access to programs, funding and research, at the University of North Dakota Center for Rural Health.

"As someone who grew up in a town of only 90 people, I understand better than most the obstacles rural communities can face in providing access to quality and local health care," said Heitkamp. "The Rural Assistance Center is a great way for rural communities to easily get the information they need to provide quality health care services to local residents. These funds are a great investment in North Dakota's rural health, our communities and North Dakotans."

These funds are authorized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
