Date: July 16, 2015

Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter announced today the appointment of eight new members to the Defense Business Board (DBB). These new members, along with the current eighteen members, will provide the secretary of defense and other senior leaders of the Department of Defense with independent advice on best business practices.

These men and women were chosen based on their proven track record of sound judgment in leading or governing large, complex private sector corporations or entities, and have a wealth of top-level, global business experience in the areas of executive management, corporate governance, audit and finance, human resources and compensation, economics, technology and healthcare.

"I welcome the new business leaders joining our ranks, and pleased to see former members return at such an important time for our country," said Secretary of Defense Ash Carter. "Their keen insight and vision will continue the invaluable work the Defense Business Board has done in improving the department's business operations."
