Pro-lifeCandidate AnswerDo you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Other or expanded principles

I am pro life and I believe that abortion is the taking of a human life. I also believe that the best way to prevent the greatest number of abortions is remove the economic reasons to have one. We need a national healthcare policy that provides for the prenatal, maternity, and postpartum health care needs of the mother and child.

NoCandidate AnswerDo you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
NoDo you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
Other or expanded principles

It is time to quit talking how and when to bring our troops home and just do it.

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing the federal budget.
In order to balance the budget,
YesCandidate Answerdo you support reducing defense spending?
YesCandidate Answerdo you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Nodo you support reducing Medicaid spending?
Nodo you support reducing Medicare spending?
YesIs balancing the budget a legislative priority?
Other or expanded principles

The future that the ruling parties have been stealing from is now here. We must balance our budget. This will require both tax increases and spending cuts.

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Other or expanded principles

Elected officials should not be allowed to solicit or accept campaign contributions, this is corruption. Currently the Federal Elections Commission regulates this corruption. It is time to outlaw this corruption not regulate it.

NoDo you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Other or expanded principles
NoCandidate AnswerDo you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
NoCandidate AnswerDo you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
NoDo you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
NoDo you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
NoDo you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
Other or expanded principles

In the past 6 years we have seen our nations debt increase by over 7 trillion dollars. Despite this massive increase in deficit spending total employment has declined by more than 3.7 million jobs. Something is terribly wrong. Trillions of dollars have been spent on tarp and quantitative easing in order to bail out Wall Street while main street America languishes in recession. To strengthen our economy we must create jobs by removing all of the costs we impose on the American worker.

NoCandidate AnswerDo you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
Other or expanded principles

I believe a good education is priceless but that doesnt mean we should bankrupt ourselves to obtain one. We have to keep in mind that education is big business and that like any other industry it can become very self-serving. I believe that the biggest impediments to education are generally not economic, but social and cultural in nature.

NoCandidate AnswerDo you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Other or expanded principles

Since the first energy crisis in 1973, our nation has been bouncing from one energy crisis to the next, with each new energy crisis threatening to destroy our economy. With newly discovered energy resources coming online in North America there will be a great temptation to kick the can down the road one more time. This we must not do! Instead we must use this opportunity to increase our energy conservation efforts, and promote research to discover energy supplies that are both economically viable and truly renewable.

YesDo you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
YesCandidate AnswerDo you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Other or expanded principles

Human activity has been at war with the environment for centuries. We must work to restore the environmental resources, the air, the land and the water, we are currently destroying. If we fail to do so we will end up destroying ourselves. The stewardship of these resources must become a central part of our economy.

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Other or expanded principles

Only for very limited reason. (Criminal record, psychiatric issues, under age)

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
NoShould individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Other or expanded principles

If the government is going to provide healthcare for senior citizens justice demands that newborn citizens are just as deserving as is every citizen in between. We need to provide Medicare for all citizens and remove the burden of healthcare from the American worker by funding Medicare with a national sales tax. The purchasing power of the federal government should be used to bring the cost of healthcare services down.

NoCandidate AnswerDo you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
YesDo you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
YesDo you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
Other or expanded principles

We need to quit blaming undocumented workers for our failure to enforce laws regarding immigration. We should blame the businesses and industries that use immigrant labor to drive down labor costs below what is a just wage. By paying such low wages these businesses cause additional costs for state and local government. Mass deportation is not the answer. If we were to deport all these people today our economy would collapse tomorrow. Businesses and industries who benefit the most from this immigration should be the ones to be held accountable.

NoCandidate AnswerDo you support same-sex marriage?
Other or expanded principles

I don't want the state telling my church how to define marriage, and I don't
want my church telling the state how to define marriage. I would be very
happy to have the state license only civil unions for everyone and to let
individuals decide on their own definition of marriage.

NoCandidate AnswerDo you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
NoShould the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Other or expanded principles

Our nations fear of terrorism is somewhat irrational, 40,000 people die every year in car accidents yet we have not incarcerated all UAW members at Gitmo or declared war on Detroit. If we wish to be free we need to be able to accept that there is a certain amount of risk that comes with that freedom. We need to ask if our fear of terrorism justifies the loss of life in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.

Replace payroll taxes with a national sales tax, and make Medicare universal.
A nations wealth is created by the productive labor of its workers, and not in the casino of the financial industry. To promote job creation and strengthen our economy we must remove all of the costs we impose on the American worker. The cost of Medicare, Social Security, and health insurance all put the American worker at a great disadvantage. If we pay for these costs with a national sales tax, we will make the American worker much more competitive and strengthen our economy.
