Wisconsin State Legislative Election 2006 National Political Awareness Test

The Political Courage Test asks candidates which items they will support if elected. It does not ask them to indicate which items they will oppose. Through extensive research of public polling data, we discovered that voters are more concerned with what candidates would support when elected to office, not what they oppose. If a candidate does not select a response to any part or all of any question, it does not necessarily indicate that the candidate is opposed to that particular item.

Campaign spending limits are not needed with full and timely disclosure. I don't oppose exit polling. I oppose reporting results from exit polling while the polls are still open. Voter ID requirements disenfranchise seniors and the working poor.

We need to do more to eliminate racial, ethnic and gender boundaries. Affirmative Action has very noble intentions, but with the great divisions in our society, I'm not sure it is bringing us much closer to Dr. King's Dream.

Our health care syhstem needs reform. We need true leadership from both sides to sit down and fix the system. Piecemeal legislation won't get the job done.
