The main agreement already gives Iran the ability to hold off IAEA inspectors for three weeks after an inspection request has been made, but trusting Iran to inspect its own nuclear sites is a new level of recklessness. President Obama has stated our options are either accepting this deal or going to war, but this rhetoric is irresponsible. • "After months of delay and an outpouring of concern by the American people, President Obama has announced his strategy for combatting ISIS. I appreciate the President's building of a broad international coalition for this effort, and his willingness to use airstrikes to attack ISIS in both Iraq and Syria. Increased efforts to stop the financing of this group and to unravel their network of support are also appropriate." https://votesmart.org/public-statement/929197/column-eliminating-the-isis-threat#.WrKpeme3wfI (votesmart.org)

Nebraska State Legislative Election 2002 National Political Awareness Test

This candidate has responded to a Political Courage Test in a previous election. As a continued effort to provide the American public with factual information on candidates running for public office, these archived responses are made available here.

The Political Courage Test asks candidates which items they will support if elected. It does not ask them to indicate which items they will oppose. Through extensive research of public polling data, we discovered that voters are more concerned with what candidates would support when elected to office, not what they oppose. If a candidate does not select a response to any part or all of any question, it does not necessarily indicate that the candidate is opposed to that particular item.

Economic opportunity is vital to government. Without the driving forces of economic development, government has no ability to maintain the "safety net" that is important to citizens in need of government services. I hope to continue my efforts in the area of affordable housing and public safety. Economic development works best at the local level.
