What is the Political Courage Test?

Tennessee Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
While I lean pro-life I have several conflicts that do not make this an absolute answer. The first conflict is that I am not a woman, and I do not feel qualified pass laws concerning abortion without hearing from women. Second conflict is can the state force a woman to carry a child to term if she does not want to. Until the state determines when the unborn qualify as humans or just tissue, we will always change policy from generation to generation.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
There seems to be no slowing of the government spending, unlimited borrowing, reckless monetary policy and the currency controlled by a secret society called the Federal Reserve with no oversight or accountability. To continue taxing, spending and printing money to make up the difference we will find either runaway inflation or a significantly lower standard of living in our nation.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
As long as everything is in the open and above board.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
As long as the lower rates available to all businesses regardless of size.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
The federal government has failed in the education of our children. Test scores are falling compared to other industrialized nations. I support restoring the responsibility of education our children to the states.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
It is all about the money, paying for the privilege to pollute with the carbon tax is about increasing the tax revenue.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I support the second amendment.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
It was never about helping people, all the deals were cut in back rooms behind closed doors. That means some people are getting rich off it, and I bet the politicians are also getting wealthy.
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
We want to accept immigrants into our country we must control the flow of immigration to prevent the destabilization our society. Some people believe that we should accept anybody without restrictions but that jeopardizes not only our safety but the principles that our society is based on. For people who have no intention of assimilating should not be allowed into our country. Nothing angers a host as much as a lack of respect and appreciation from a guest.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
After a hundred years of trying to prevent people from using a plant for pleasure or healing are we any closer to stopping it? This plant came with the planet, and was not a problem for thousands of years. That is until powerful people stood to make huge amounts of money by demonizing it and making it illegal.
No Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
After the Second World War the United States became a nation that no longer declared war for using military action. Even to this day we are still have a large military presence in Korea in a high state of alert but it was never officially a declared war. We still have overseas military bases in over 160 countries including many countries that are well able to defend themselves without our help. It is difficult to justify spending so much money to defend Germany Japan Italy and even Saudi Arabia when we have an ever deepening debt crisis.
1. Make the government functions transparent and have a open door policy to fight corruption. 2. Restoration of States rights except for powers explicitly defined by the Constitution. 3. Conduct a complete audit of every department, program and government contract for wasteful spending and fraud. 4. A complete review of our criminal justice system with a eye on sentencing reform and tort reform.
