Acting as though a "budget can be balanced" while the Federal Government is $19 Trillion in debt (never mind an estimated $100 Trillion plus in Social Security, Medicare, etc.) is a false premise accepted by too many for too long. Cutting "defense spending" is a drop in the bucket of the Generational Theft done by the politicians of the Me Generation. The continued attempt to control the behavior of law abiding citizens will not stop the flow of guns through criminal activity. | Social Security and Medicare both have to be legally redone and placed in a permanent trust that cannot be accessed by politicians elected or appointed otherwise both systems will economically fail over and over again. Income tax was put upon the people in the early 1900's and suppose to be temporary. Of course we are still here being forced to pay. A consumption tax will grant the choice to the buyer, reap the benefit of all spending happening in our country, citizens or not, and create more jobs.
