Yes h) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
This issue should not be handled by the legislature or the courts. It should be dealt with in the homes and the churches. We should be focusing on prevention of unwanted pregnancy by changing our culture and education classes designed to make young people lose self-esteem if they fail to become sexually active at an early age.

Yes c) Reducing or eliminating public worker collective bargaining
No d) Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions
No e) Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees
Yes f) Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients
Some of these could be self-limiting or decrease on their own if we were able to withdraw from government influences, such as EPA regulations with Environmental controls. Similarly, getting a handle on the illegal alien population would save AZ billions of dollars in not only K through 12 education, but higher education as well and especially health care. Our K through 12 schools don't need to tighten their belts so much as the universities, but there needs to be a reallocation of resources to fund more money to the students and away from administration.
The tax code cannot be altered overnight and keep the budget balanced. It would be nice to have the consumer bear the tax burden and either drastically lower corporate taxes or eliminate them altogether. Also, there need to be attractive tax credits for corporate charity donations. We have to turn our economy around in AZ and show the rest of the nation what a great place this is.
Restructure the current welfare system and carefully examine it for fraud, institute drug screening for unemployment and Medicaid recipients, provide benefits only to citizens and not to "legal residents."

a) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions for state candidates?

No 1) Individual
No 2) Political Action Committee
No 3) Corporate
No 4) Political Party
No b) Should candidates for state office be encouraged to meet voluntary spending limits?
Yes c) Do you support requiring full and timely disclosure of campaign finance information?
No d) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
Yes e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
I believe in a free enterprise system. However, I do not believe a candidate should be allowed to accept campaign funds from anyone who is not a citizen of the United States or any government or government agency outside the United States.
Yes a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
No c) Do you support legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana?
Yes d) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
No e) Should a minor who sends sexually-explicit or nude photos by cell phone face criminal charges?
Yes f) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
The question about the minor and the cell phone is confusing. Nude and sexually-explicit are two different things. Whom did the minor send the photos to? If they were sent to someone who didn't want them or was upset by them, then that could be construed as a crime. If a minor hangs around the girls' locker room, snaps a few photos and blasts them out to his friends, that certainly warrants more attention than sending him to bed without his supper.
Yes a) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
Yes b) Do you support increased state funding for job-training programs that re-train displaced workers?
No c) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?
Yes d) Do you support providing financial incentives to the private sector for the purpose of job creation?
No e) Do you support government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes f) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure?

Employers should have the option of paying entry-level salaries for unskilled labor. The government needs to get out of the way of free enterprise.
No a) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative?
No b) Do you support a merit pay system for teachers?
No c) Is the tenure process for public school teachers producing effective teachers?
Yes d) Should parents be allowed to use vouchers to send their children to any school?
Yes e) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
No f) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid?
No g) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Arizona high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
One of the reasons for the increase in university tuition is the number of illegal aliens who are taking advantage of the benefits afforded them. If we want excellence in our AZ schools once again,we have to rid ourselves of those College and Career Ready Standards (Common Core.) They are no more than a painful federally funded, state driven road leading to intellectual mediocrity, and they will do nothing more than drive the cost of education higher and the quality down.

No e) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance?
Yes f) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits?
No g) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes?
I do not support the current "medical marijuana" laws. As a physician, I have prescribed Delta-9 THC (a pill) for my terminal cancer patients, and it worked quite well during their last days. A lot of research still needs to be done regarding the therapeutic uses of THC along with the different means of delivery. The government needs to be out of the healthcare business. I closed my doors because of the ACA. The Medicaid Expansion "expanded" 3 things - Delays, Denials and Demands on physicians. That's all it did.
No a) Do you support same-sex marriage?
No b) Should same-sex couples be allowed to form civil unions?
No c) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Arizona's anti-discrimination laws?
No d) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Arizona's anti-discrimination laws?
No e) Do you support repealing SB 1070?
People have every right to decide whom they are going to love. We should not, however, allow a small minority to create havoc with the structure of our society because they want to disrupt the order of things and change the whole definition of the word "marriage." People are free to live however they please, enter into whatever contracts they want. This does not require chaos.
AZ ranked 4th in the nation this last Spring in job losses. The Affordable Care Act isn't helping. We need to adjust our tax code to attract corporations, decrease regulations to help small businesses get started, get the JTED passed in Yuma this election, and change our image to show the nation AZ is a safe and tolerant place to live. Illegal immigration is part of our fiscal problem. We must empower our Sheriffs, our AZ Guard, the National Guard, and our Border Patrol to do the job the federal government refuses to do while we're building the fence.
