Yes e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
No f) Do you support a constitutional amendment that allows the state to increase taxes on the mining industry?
Being independent means not having a lot of money. It sickens me when candidates get loads of money from unions, political parties, and individuals. Mining pays enough in this state. ID is required when I do most everything in my day. Why not for voting?

No e) Do you support increased spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
Yes f) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure?
Yes g) Do you support the legalization of a state lottery?
Reducing regulations on the private sector helps create jobs. I believe that job training programs should be supplemented by the unions. Too many who could get a job would rather collect unemployment rather than take less than unemployment. Infrastructure jobs get magically placed at the unions door. Homeowners who keep their homes pay property taxes. State lottery should help supplement our school budget and not the schools of California or Arizona.
No a) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative?
Yes b) Do you support a merit pay system for teachers?
No c) Is the tenure process for public school teachers producing effective teachers?
Yes d) Should parents be allowed to use vouchers to send their children to any school?
Yes e) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
No f) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid?
No g) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Nevada high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
I think I would support CCSS if it wouldn't be funded with taxpayer money. Merit pay seems good in principal, however we can't measure success with a "one standard fits all" menatality. Tenure is just causing the taxpayers money.Parents should be able to send their kids to any school they believe will better serve their children. State funding for charter schools should be done but without the list/ selection process. Most state governments don't have that kind of money. Illegal is illegal.
No a) Do you support state funding for the development of alternative energy?

No d) Do you support state funding for open space preservation?
No e) Do you support enacting environmental regulations aimed at reducing the effects of climate change?
No f) Do you support the water pipeline project from eastern Nevada to Las Vegas?
State funding means more taxes.
No a) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
No b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns?
No d) Should a license be required for gun possession?
Read the second amendment.
No a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option?
No b) Do you support expanding access to health care through commercial health insurance reform?
Yes c) Do you support interstate health insurance compacts?
No d) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance?
Yes e) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits?
Yes f) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes?
Being able to lose the "interstate commerce" and going to other states to purchase health insurance would drastically reduce the price of health insurance.
No a) Should marriage only be between one man and one woman?
Yes b) Should same-sex couples be allowed to form civil unions?
No c) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Nevada's anti-discrimination laws?
No d) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Nevada's anti-discrimination laws?
Nevada state constitution states marriage as being between a man and woman. I will uphold the constitution. If someone did the hard work of getting the required signatures and got it on the ballot for the people to vote, I would vote for same sex marriage. Or let them get a lawyer fight the legality of the amendment. I won't legislate smae sex marriage. I also don't believe the government should be involved in marriage.
Nevada can't stay a 1 or 2 industry state. We need bigger industry (i.e., aerospace, solar) here. Bigger industry means more jobs. We need our land, from the federal government, to attract solar energy. Getting more people back into homes. Again we need industry to attract more people back to the homes left open by the housing bubble. More homeowners means more property taxes. More property taxes means more money for schools.
