Balancing the budget is my top priority. I want to have audit teams that will go to the various governement departments audit for wasteful governement spending. They will report directly to me and I want to propose directly to congress every month with a list of wasteful spending and amending the budget to eliminate the wasteful spending.
Until the budget is balanced and we actually have a surplus, I will want to eliminate all projectets that are not absolutly necessary. When the federal debt is paid off then I hope that many of these programs can be restored without causing the federal government to go into debt again.
I want to simplify the tax code, eliminate the earned income tax credit and eliminate the alternative minimum tax credit. I support having laws written in "plain english" so they can be understood by most Americans. I want to require that all members of congress to have to personally prepare their return by hand (ie with the use of a computer) and afterward have their return prepared by their accountant and the difference made public. This will keep congress from passing complex tax laws.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I believe that only individuals should be able to contribut to campains.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
I think every federal prisioner should be canned every 6 months to experience sever physical pain for their crimes. I would cut in half the length of prision terms believing that the pain is a punishment and deterrent to future crimes. I would let the jury decided if some should be put to death or experience physical pain for the rest of their natural life.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
Yes Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
I would make the tax relief permanent. I think taxes should be lower for all individuals and corporations.
Yes Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
States must improve their educational systems in order to receive federal grants.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
No Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
I would encourange finding and using the gas and oil found in the US and offshore instead of sending our money to foreign countries. I would greatly increase oil exploration in Alaska and offshore.
Yes Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
Yes Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
No Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
I think our troops should be totally out of Afghanistan. We will never eliminate all the bad people in the world and it's wasteful to even try. I would bring our troops back home and concentrate on protecting the boarders and land of the US. I would be very hesitant to use US troops for any purpose except for protecting our country.
Yes Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
I am a gun owner and enjoy shooting guns. I also have a "permit to carry" from the State of Tennessee. I would want to restrict gun owners to only responsible adults. I think you should have some degree of training and understanding of the laws before anyone should be able to purchase a gun. Mine was a half-day class and I think that is sufficant. anyone convicted of a felony for a lifetime would never be able to own or possess as gun.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
I would want to concentrate on reducing the cost of health care. Then if someone wants to pay for health cost from their own pocket that would be ok. I believe that making everyone have health insurance only makes health care cost go up. Greatly reduce doctor's and hospital's need to practice defensive medicine and deliver on the health care that is needed.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
I beleive that all immigrants should be allowed to work in this courty for 2 years and then have to return to their country for 1 full year. After 1 year they would be allowed to return to the US to work but would have to prove they have not outstanding tax liabilities or consumer debt. Immigrants would have to pay a 8% fee on their earnings for the cost of this program. No child would be an American citizen unless one parent is an American citizen. Immigrants are vistors and vistors only.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
Marriage should only be between a man and a woman. I someone wants to be homosexual that is their choice but they get no special treamement. They are simple two unmarried people of the same sex who live together. They should not be discriminated against or given an special treatment because of their lifestyle.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
I believe that people who pay into the Social Security system should expect to get their money back plus a modest return on their investment. However I do support that individuals who have more that $ 100,000 in income should not be able to receive Social Security benefit but a tax deduction for the benefits they did not receive.
1. Reducing wasteful governement spending and creating a budget surplus 2. Bringing canning into the criminal justice system 3. Solving immigration No additional funding would be required for any of these priorities.
