Lorie's leadership in the field of law and her dedication both to D.C. and to volunteer legal cases have earned her many recognitions. She is regularly named to lists of Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers and, for the last several years, has been named one of the top 250 women litigators in the United States. In 2011, the National Law Journal named her one of its "champions" for her work on voting rights and DC election law, as well as her work to address issues facing women of color in workplace and promoting diversity and inclusion. She has written two legal textbooks that are widely recognized, and one won a 2012 award for advancing the scholarship in the field of insurance coverage.
