During the 2012 election cycle, 1.5 million NEW users discovered Vote Smart adding to the millions already "voting smart." In 2012 we found out it is Vote Smart that both the Defense Department and the White House use to inform our overseas troops, State Department personal and even the President before he travels. Even fact check organizations told us that it is Vote Smart that they use as a base line for their check of candidate credibility. And the most fortunate discovery this year has been that our member's support set an all-time record in contributions, making the future of "Smart Voting" bright and promising for 2013.
Staff members from our Quality Control department got up bright the day after the election to process results, ensuring that all our information was updated, live and available to all.
Now our entire effort switches to tracking those we elected. Any citizens will be able to see if those newly elected officials do in office, what they said they would do in their campaigns. Every vote, public statement, biographical update, campaign contribution and performance rating will be tracked, day-by-day, month-by-month, and is as close as your phone or the click of your mouse.
