Title: Designating Driver's Licenses for Drug Dealers

Vote to pass a bill that requires those convicted of certain drug violations to be issued a special driver's license or identification card.

Highlights:

-Requires that all Louisiana driver's licenses or identification cards belonging to individuals convicted a second or subsequent time after August 15th, 2009 of certain controlled dangerous substance violations contain a restriction code indicating that the individual has been convicted of a felony violation of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substance Law (Sec. 1). -Mandates that both the driver's license and identification card contain the words "Drug Offender" in orange (Sec. 1). -Mandates the driver's license and identification card to be valid for a period of four years from the date it was issued (Sec. 1). -Requires that driver's licenses and identification cards with restriction codes be carried for a period of eight years (Sec. 1).
