Vote to pass a bill that allows children aged 10 and above to hunt and carry a firearm or bow for hunting purposes if accompanied by a mentor.

Highlights:

-Lowers the minimum hunting age from 12 to 10 years old as long as there is a designated mentor present to supervise (Secs. 1, 4). -Mandates that an individual must meet all the following criteria to qualify as a mentor: he or she must be over the age of 18; be the parent or guardian, or designated by the parent or guardian, of the person for whom he or she is serving as mentor; be within arms' reach of the person for whom he or she is serving as a mentor at all times; and possess a certificate of accomplishment and a valid hunting approval, unless he or she is exempt (Sec. 20). -Mandates that a mentor may only supervise one child at any one time (Sec. 20). -Lowers the minimum age for obtaining a bird dog training license from 12 to 10 (Sec. 22).
