Title: Property Tax Reappropriation

Vote to override a veto of a bill that appropriates property taxes from Clark and Washoe counties to use for state programs.

Highlights:

-Permits the board of county commissioners to levy a tax ad valorem on all taxable property in the county at a rate not to exceed $0.05 per $100 of the assessed valuation of the county (Sec. 1). -Requires that a portion of the proceeds of any such tax imposed be deposited into the State General Fund in the next two fiscal years in counties whose population is 100,000 or more (Sec. 1). -Requires the board of county commissioners to prepare a comprehensive report including a statement of the proposed uses of the collected revenues (Sec. 2). -Allows a board of county commissioners of a county whose population is more than 100,000 but less than 400,000 to impose a supplemental governmental services tax not to exceed $0.01 on each $1 valuation of a vehicle (Sec. 4).
