Vote to pass a bill that places limits on a variety of monetary political contributions and strengthens regulations regarding campaign expenditures and disclosure.
-Mandates that single-candidate committees may accept a maximum of $5,000 per year from any one individual, $10,000 from any one corporation, labor organization, or association, and $90,000 from any one political committee (Sec. 5). -Mandates that multi-candidate and non-candidate committees may accept a maximum of $10,000 per year from any one individual, $20,000 from any one corporation, labor organization, or association, and $90,000 from any one political committee (Sec. 5). -Requires that these limits become effective on January 1st, 2011 (Sec. 5). -Changes the required reports of campaign contributions and expenditures from twice yearly to once every three months (Sec. 5). -Mandates that the State Board of Elections create an online database of all complaints filed with the board, detailing the actions and penalties imposed (Sec. 5).
