Title: Job Training Program Benefits and Security

Vote to pass a bill that would provide up to 26 additional weeks of unemployment benefits to those who have exhausted their original benefits.

Highlights:

-Establishes up to an additional 26 weeks of unemployment insurance benefits to individuals who have exhausted their regular benefits and who during that time are enrolled in and satisfactorily completing an approved job-training program authorized under the Federal Workforce Adjustment Act (Sec. 27). -Establishes that individuals who voluntarily leave part-time employment without “good cause” attributable to the employer, will continue to be ineligible for unemployment benefits (Sec 27). -Stipulates that training benefits will not be provided if the individual is receiving a similar stipend or other training allowance, or if the individual is entitled to unemployment insurance under any other federal program (Sec. 27).
