Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that requires individuals to present satisfactory evidence of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote beginning January 1, 2010.

Highlights:

-Specifies that the following shall constitute satisfactory evidence of U.S. citizenship (Sec. 1):

-Driver's license number or identification card issued by the Department of Driver Services; -Birth certificate; -Passport; -Naturalization documents or the registration number from the naturalization documents; -Bureau of Indian Affairs card number, treaty card number, or tribal enrollment number; -Other documents or methods that establish proof of citizenship pursuant to the federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986; and -Other documents or methods that establish proof of citizenship as established by rule and regulation of the State Election Board.
