Vote to pass a bill that raises the tax on a pack of cigarettes to $1.00 and imposes an excise tax on snuff and other tobacco products of 33.33 percent of the wholesale price and 16.67 percent of the retail price to consumers. The bill also imposes an excise tax on cigars of 20 percent of the wholesale price and 10 percent of the retail price. Additionally, the bill provides that the revenue generated will go to the state’s general fund.
