Vote to pass a motion to waive the Budget Act for an amendment to HR 1 that replaces everything in the bill with a tax rebate for Americans filing tax returns.
- Grants all taxpayers earning less than $250,000 per year a tax credit of $5,143, or $10,286 if filing jointly (Sec. 2).
NOTE: A MOTION TO WAIVE THE BUDGET ACT, IF ADOPTED, TEMPORARILY SETS ASIDE A SPECIFIC PROVISION OF THE BUDGET ACT OF 1974 SO THAT AN AMENDMENT THAT VIOLATES THE ACT MAY BE CONSIDERED. A 3/5 MAJORITY IS REQUIRED FOR ADOPTION.
