Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to adopt an amendment that would prohibit the United States from cooperating with an international criminal court.

  • Authorizes the President to use all means necessary and appropriate to free members of United States military and certain other allied persons if they are detained or imprisoned by an international criminal court.
  • Disavows any previous indication that an international criminal court has jurisdiction over any member of the United States Government or United States personnel.
