Title: Salvage Timber Sales

Vote on a motion to table an amendment that directs the National Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to implement forest health improvement projects which includes the sale of dead and dying timber.

Highlights:

- Permits salvage timber sales in areas inhabited by the endangered spotted owl, provided that:

    - It is not within any unit of the National Wilderness Preservation System or other area in which timber harvesting is prohibited; and - The Secretary of Agriculture has determined that it will not adversely affect the spotted owl's habitat.
