Title: Expand Use of Red Light Cameras

Vote to pass a bill that would allow DeKalb, LaSalle, McLean, Peoria, Sangamon, and Winnebago counties to install red-light cameras under certain conditions.

Highlights:

- Requires counties and municipalities to perform a six-month evaluation of accident rates and to install strobe lights in the traffic signals at intersections with high accident rates for three months before installing red-light cameras (Sec. 5). - Requires the duration of yellow lights at intersections with red-light cameras to be at least three seconds (Sec. 5). - Specifies that no persons shall be ticketed as a result of a red-light camera unless their entire vehicles cross a stop-line marking on the road (Sec. 5).
