Title: Physical Fitness Standards for State Employees
Vote to pass a bill that creates a Medical Review Board to establish medical and physical fitness standards for state employees.
- Requires the Medical Review Board to develop standards that relate to the essential functions of specific positions [sec. 1 (45-2-60) (a)]. - Exempts department heads, temporary employees, students, and other employees, as determined by the State Personnel Board, from the standards established by the Medical Review Board [sec. 1 (45-2-62)]. - Requires the State Personnel Board to establish fees and compensate the Medical Review Board for their services [sec. 1 (45-2-60) (b)]. - Requires there be, at most, five doctors of medicine appointed to the Medical Review Board by the commissioner of personnel administration [sec. 1 (45-2-60) (a)].
