Title: Time Off to Attend Presidential Precinct Caucuses

Vote to pass a bill requiring employers to provide up to four hours of unpaid leave to employees to attend presidential precinct caucuses.

- Allows an employer to deny an employee's application for a leave of absence if all the following conditions exist: - the person is employed in an emergency services position including: -peace officer -fire fighter -emergency medical personnel -any position that strongly affects public health or safety -any position where the employees absence will create a severe economic or operational disruption [Sec. 2 (2)(a)(1)]. - the employer filed a written letter of denial to the commissioner, seven days prior to the caucus and provided the number of employees needed to maintain minimum operational capacity, which wouldn't be met if the employee is absent. [Sec. 2(2)(a)(2,3)]. - Requires that an employer's decision to deny a leave of absence to an employee not be based on the employee's political party affiliation, political beliefs, or affiliation or support with any candidate [Sec. 2(2)(b)].
