Vote to table an amendment that establishes a tax credit for school tuition for qualifying K-12 students.

Highlights:

- Establishes a tuition tax credit of $1,000 for qualifying students attending public schools when the student is not a resident of the school's district, and for qualifying students attending private schools. - Defines a qualifying student as one whose household income is under 200 percent of the federal poverty level or is physically or mentally handicapped. - Establishes that a student is eligible to transfer to a new school if the student attends or is scheduled to attend a failing school, or if they are determined to be physically or mentally handicapped. - Requires schools that receive transfer students to administer the Palmetto Achievement or equivalent test and to publicly disclose the aggregate grade level results of the test.
