Title: Life Ending Prescriptions for Terminally Ill Patients
Vote to pass a bill that would allow physicians to prescribe life-ending medication to terminally ill patients.
- Authorizes that all request for medication shall be witnessed by at least 2 individuals who arent the attending physician, a relative, or entitled to anything from the estate of the patient [sec. 2] - Provisions in contracts/wills are not valid when relating to medication that will hasten death [sec. 2] - Participation by health care provider is voluntary [sec. 2]. - Clarifies that nothing in the bill shall be construed to authorize a physician or any other person to end a patients life by lethal injection, mercy killing or active euthanasia [sec. 2]
