Vote to pass a bill that requires state courts to recognize tribal court rulings in civil cases.
-Requires that any objection to a tribal ruling be made within 30 days of receiving the ruling (sec. 7). -Refuses to recognize decisions by tribal courts if the court does not have personal or subject matter jurisdiction, or the party wasnt granted due process (sec. 8). -Establishes that the court may decline to recognize a tribal judgment if: the judgment was obtained by fraud, it conflicts with another judgment, it is inconsistent with the parties contractual choice of forum, the tribal court doesnt recognize and enforce state judgments, and it is against the fundamental public policies of the US or Iowa (sec. 8).
