Vote to pass a bill providing educational grants to childcare providers and to provide childcare information to parents.
Highlights:
-Requires the Department of Workforce Services to provide grants to help childcare providers and workers to obtain degrees in early childhood development and related fields [§2.14-4-204(a)]. -Provides for additional grants for continuing education in these fields [§2.14-4-204(c)]. The childcare facility employing the recipient of a continuing education grant must share at least 10% of the cost of this continuing education [§2.14-4-204(c)(ii)]. -Requires grant recipients to work for a childcare facility in Wyoming for a set length of time after receiving the degree or continuing education, proportional to the amount of grant money received [§2.14-4-204(c)]. -Requires the Department of Workforce Services to provide parents with information on available childcare choices and how to choose a childcare provider [§2.14-4-206(a)(vi)].
