Vote to pass a bill that limits the use of cellphones in public schools in the state of Ohio.
Requires each board of education to adopt a policy governing the use of cell phones that emphasizes they be limited during school hours, which reduces cell phone distractions (Sec. 1-5).
Specifies that if determined appropriate by the district, the bill allows students to use cell phones if needed to monitor or address a health condition, if appropriate in a special education individual education plan, or if needed to enhance a lesson (Sec. 1-5).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning July 1, 2024 (Sec. 6).
