Vote to pass a bill that amends provisions relating to individuals arrested without a warrant in the state of Nebraska.

Highlights:

• Requires that an individual arrested without a warrant under this section who remains in custody shall be brought before a court in the county where the arrest occurred for an appearance no later than 7 days after arrest (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the appearance may be in person or conducted remotely by means of videoconferencing (Sec. 1).

• Specifies the individual shall have the right to appear in person but must agree to waive the 7-day deadline if an in-person appearance within such time is not reasonably practicable.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 2).
