Vote to pass a bill that requires gun owners to also hold liability insurance that covers injury, death or property damage caused by any accidental or unintentional discharge of the firearm in the state of Colorado.

Highlights:

• Requires a firearm owner to maintain liability insurance or suffer a $500 fine (Sec. 2). 

• Specifies that a person who is denied firearm liability by 2 or more insurers or a person who is indigent and cannot afford the insurance to petition a court for an excusal order (Sec. 2). 

• Requires an insurer to make available to an application that opportunity to include in a homeowners or renters insurance policy coverage that satisfied the firearm liability insurance requirements (Sec. 3).
