Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that authorize requests for future budget requests to include funds for victims help programs in the state of Oregon.

Highlights:

• Requires the Department of Justice to include in its agency request budget a discrete amount necessary to fund the cost of the following programs (Sec. 1): 

• Children advocacy centers; 

• The Survivor Housing Funds grant program; and

• The Oregon Domestic and Sexual Violence Services Fund. 

• Specifies that the department may include in the total up to 10% of the department's administrative costs (Sec. 1). 

• Requires the director of a children’s advocacy center to submit to the Department of Justice the projected costs of the center for the next biennium (Sec. 3). 

• Establishes that the director of a children’s advocacy center must submit information to certify that the submitted information is true and accurate (Sec. 3). 

• Authorizes the act to take effect upon passage (Sec. 5).
