Title: Amends Genetic DNA Testing Requirements for Certain Parental Cases
Vote to pass a bill that amends genetic DNA testing requirements for certain parental cases in the state of Michigan.
Prohibits the use of genetic testing if the following are true (Sec. 5):
The child’s parent has previously acknowledged parentage under the Acknowledgement of Parentage Act; and
The child is subject to a pending adoption proceeding under the Michigan adoption code;
Establishes that the child must be (Sec. 5):
Conceived through the use of assisted reproduction that does not involve surrogacy if the parents of the child may be determined under the Assisted Reproduction and Surrogacy Parentage Act; and
A child under the surrogacy agreement must comply with the assisted reproduction and surrogacy parentage act.
Authorizes this amendment to take effect 90 days after the date of its enactment (Sec. 1).
