Title: Prohibits the Possession of Detached Catalytic Converters
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the possession of detached catalytic converters.
Prohibits the selling, possession, purchase, solicitation, or advertisement of a used detached catalytic converter or any nonferrous parts of a catalytic converter (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the possession or sale of a used detached catalytic converter by commercial vehicle parts or repair businesses that sell or install new catalytic converters (Sec. 1).
Establishes that a commercial motor vehicle parts or repair business can purchase a detached catalytic converter in compliance with the United States Environmental Protection Agency policy (Sec. 1).
Requires the used detached catalytic converter to be marked with the date that it was removed from vehicle, the vehicle identification number (Sec. 1)
Establishes that any person who purchases a used detached catalytic converter must electronically submit to the department of public safety a record of each transition relating to the convertor
