Vote to adopt an amendment to S 256 that would increase the minimum wage from $5.15 to $6.25 after 18 months.

  • Raises the minimum wage to $5.70 six months after enactment and establishes it at $6.25 eighteen months after enactment (Sec. 01).
  • Provides for a biweekly work requirement (if union or non-represented individual are in agreement) of 80 hours, where 10 hours may be shifted between the two weeks, to be known as flex-time (Sec. 13).
  • Provides a $500,000 increase in current Fair Labor Standards Act exemptions for small businesses (Sec. 21).
  • Allows small businesses to include employees' tips as part of their minimum hourly wage (Sec. 51).
