Vote to pass a bill that authorizes a county to charge a permit fee to build, move or change a line, fixture or facility that is in the right of way of a county public road.

Highlights:

• Requires a person who wants to construct, alter, relocate, maintain or repair water, gas, electric or communication service lines within the right of a public round to apply for a permit and pay the permit fee (Sec. 1). 

• Estsbalishes that a permit is not complete until 15 days after its been filed with the county (Sec. 2). 

• Prohibits a county governing body to charge a fee for a permit that is for vegetation management or vegetation clearance maintenance (Sec. 2). 

• Establishes the maximum fee amont that a county governing body may charge for the administationa dn issuance of a permit to be $500 (Sec. 2).

• Prohibits the fee charged by the county to be greater than necessary to cover the costs incurred by the county for the administration, issuance and compliance enforcement fo teh permit (Sec. 2).
