Vote to pass a bill that establishes additional responsibilities for the board of trustees for state institutions of higher learning and merge the Mississippi University for Women with Mississippi State University.

Highlights:

• Specifies that any individual who shall be convicted of receiving stolen property which is a motor vehicle under this section shall be punished by imprisonment in the custody of the State Department of Corrections for a term not less than 5 years (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the minimum terms of punishment imposed of this section shall not be reduced or suspended nor shall such person be eligible for probation or parole before the expiration of the minimum term of incarceration (Sec. 1).
