Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill a bill that repeals the governor's power to fill vacancies in the offices of secretary of state, treasurer, attorney general and state superintendent of public instruction without a Senate confirmation process in the state of Wisconsin.

Highlights:

• Repeals the governor's power to fill vacancies in the offices of secretary of state, treasurer, attorney general, and state superintendent of public instruction without a Senate confirmation process in the state of Wisconsin (Sec. 1).

• Requires that if a vacancy occurs in any of the aforementioned offices on or after January 1, of a year in which there is a regularly scheduled election for the office, the vacancy be filled by nomination of the governor and appointment with the advice and consent of the senate of an individual to serve the remainder of the unexpired term (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 1).
