Vote to pass a bill that prohibits local regulation of the carrying of knives in the state of Idaho.

Highlights:

• Prohibits any city, county, or other political subdivision from enacting any ordinances, rules, or taxes relating to the transportation, possession, carrying, sale, transfer, purchase, gift, dividing, licensing, or registration of a knife or knife-making components (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes the following to regulate the possession of a knife (Sec. 1): 

• Public school, including public charter schools; and 

• Any court of record. 

• Establishes that any rule or ordinance from the city, county, or any other political subdivision that contradicts this be void or nullified (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes the authorization date as July 1, 2024 (Sec. 2).
