Title: Establishes the Offense of Unsafe E-Bike Riding
Vote to pass a bill that establishes the crime of of unsafe E-bike Riding in the state of Oregon.
Specifies the difference between Class I, Class II, and Class III electric-assisted bicycles (Sec. 1).
Prohibit electric-assisted bicycles from assisting once the bicycle reaches a speed of 28 miles per hour (Sec. 1).
Defines what is considered a “bicycle” (Sec. 2).
Authorizes a person who is not a resident of the state or who has not been a resident of the state for less than 30 days to operate a motor vehicle without an Oregon license (Sec. 3).
Prohibits any person from operating an electric assisted bicycle during a period of suspension or revocation by this state or any other driving privileges issued by any other jurisdiction (Sec. 3).
Authorizes any member of the Armed Forces of the United States or a member of the commissioned corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to operate a motor vehicle without an Oregon license or driver permit (Sec. 3).
Establishes that a person may operate class I, class II, or class III electric-assisted bicycles without any grant of driving privileges if the person is 16 years or older (Sec. 3).
Authorizes any person to operate a motor-assisted scooter without any grant of driving privileges if the person is 16 years or older (Sec. 3).
