Highlights:

  • Specifies the difference between Class I,  Class II, and Class III electric-assisted bicycles (Sec. 1). 

  • Prohibit electric-assisted bicycles from assisting once the bicycle reaches a speed of 28 miles per hour (Sec. 1).

  • Authorizes a person who is not a resident of the state or who has not been a resident of the state for less than 30 days to operate a motor vehicle without an Oregon license (Sec. 3).

  • Authorizes any member of the Armed Forces of the United States or a member of the commissioned corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to operate a motor vehicle without an Oregon license or driver permit (Sec. 3). 

  • Establishes that a person may operate class I, class II, or class III electric-assisted bicycles without any grant of driving privileges if the person is 16 years or older (Sec. 3). 

  • Authorizes any person to operate a motor-assisted scooter without any grant of driving privileges if the person is 16 years or older (Sec. 3).
