Vote to pass a bill that expands childcare affordability programs in the state of Massachusetts.

Highlights:

• Expands and amends childcare affordability programs in the state of Massachusetts, including (Sec. ):

• Making permanent the permanent the Commonwealth Cares for Children, or C3 Grants for providers which were included in the state budget for the current fiscal year;

• Setting pay and benefit standards for early education/child care workers, on par with educators in the public school system;

• Establishing a career ladder for early childhood educators that includes scholarships and loan forgiveness; and

• For providers receiving state subsidies, reimbursements would be based on the actual cost of care, including staffing costs, and would be based on enrollment rather than attendance.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect beginning January 15, 2025 (Sec. 24).
