Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that expands health care coverage for lower-income adults in the state of Georgia.
Expands health care coverage for lower-income adults in the state of Georgia, including repealing permit requirements for patients for outpatient birthing and imaging centers for X-rays, CAT scans, and PET scans (Sec. 1-12)
Authorizes physicians from different specialties to share operating rooms, and be available for any procedure across multiple specialties (Sec. 1-12).
Authorizes new hospitals to be built in counties with less than 50,000 residents as long as they agree to the following, including (Sec. 1-12):
Provide certain amount of charity care;
Join the statewide trama system; and
Provide comprehensive behavioral health services.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall become effective July 1, 2024 (Sec. 13).
