Vote to pass a bill that amends existing law to revise the quorum requirements for meetings of school district boards of trustees in the state of Idaho.

Highlights:

• Establishes the annual meeting of each school district to be on its regular January meeting date in each year (Sec. 1). 

• Requires that all regular meetings for school district trustees shall be held monthly, on an established say of an established week (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes the chairman, or any two board members to call a special meeting (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes that the transition for the board of trustees must consist of a majority of members, except if any vacancy occurs (Sec. 1). 

• Requires a quorum to consist of the majority during the one hundred and twenty days that the vacancy occurs until the seats can be filled by the board (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes the effective date as July 1, 2024 (Sec. 2).
