Title: Prohibits Governmental Entities From Compelling Employees to Use Certain Pronouns or Titles
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits governmental entities from compelling employees or students from using certain pronouns and titles in the state of Idaho.
Establishes that a government employee, regardless of the scope of such employee’s official duties, shall not be subject to adverse employment for actions declining to the following (Sec. 2):
Identity another employees pronouns; or
Address a person using a name other than the person’s legal name.
Prohibits an employee of a public school or public institution of higher education from knowingly addressing an emancipated minor student of a name other than their legal name (Sec. 2).
Establishes that students shall not be subject to disciplinary action by the school if they refuse to identify a student of such students' pronouns, or addresses a person by the name they were legally given (Sec. 2).
Authorizes the bill to take effect on July 1, 2024 (Sec. 3).
