Title: Prohibits Higher Education Institutions from Discriminating Against Religious Student Associations

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits public institutions of higher learning from discriminating against a religious student association in the state of Missouri.

Highlights:

  • Prohibits public institution of higher education from taking adverse action against belief-based student associations under the following conditions (Sec. 1): 

    • Regarding the associations political, ideological, or religious beliefs; 

    • On the basis of an associations viewpoint or expression of viewpoint; 

    • Based on the associations requirements in furthering their mission; and

    • In regards to an associations leaders sincerely held beliefs.

  • Authorizes any belief-based student organization or applicant to assert any violations or threats of violations as a claim in a judicial proceeding (Sec. 1).
